I’ve got my eyes keenly set on Exotique Miss in the opening race. Her recent effort in the City To Surf might not have been her best, but she’s got the grit to bounce back. With the track conditions today and Tahlia Fenlon taking a 3kg claim, I reckon she’s perfectly placed to strike. She’s a mare who knows how to push forward and make her presence felt, especially on softer ground.

In the second race, Duly Elected is one to watch. Tony Gollan’s mare is resuming and, despite a few bumps in her career, she’s shown some serious potential. Ryan Maloney’s experience in the saddle coupled with her natural class could really shine through today. I’m backing her to harness her talent and take command, particularly with the track likely to be on the softer side.

O’Miss Behaving is the one I’m excited about in the third race. She’s been up against it in Saturday-grade races but seems well-suited today. Fitter from her recent runs and facing her own sex, she’s ready to make a statement. The wetter conditions are right up her alley, and with Jake Molloy’s claim, she’s poised for a strong performance.

For the seventh race, my pick is Binding. Trained by D L Freedman and with Samantha Collett in the irons, this horse has the makings of a winner. There’s something about the way Binding has been prepared that tells me we’re in for a top-notch performance. Keep an eye on her; I believe she’s got the goods to dominate this field.
