Inordinate, the 6-year-old gelding, is due for a win. Last time at Yarra Valley, he was so close, just missed out because he couldn’t find clear running. But the way he savaged the line once he got the space was something else. Starting from barrier eight this time, he’s got a better shot, and I reckon he won’t get boxed in. This field suits him, and I’m confident he’ll show what he’s really capable of.

Now, Midnight Devil, this 4-year-old gelding is one to watch. After breaking his maiden last time out at Cranbourne, he’s really coming into his own. I’ve been following his progress, and it’s impressive how he’s managed second in all three starts this campaign before clinching that win. With Luke Cartwright in the saddle, who’s really making the most of his weight advantage, I’m expecting Midnight Devil to take the lead and hold it. It’s a shorter distance, sure, but this gelding has the grit to see it through.
