Keep your eyes on #14 Jamaican Rumba. This lad’s a four-year-old gelding who’s been showing great form. He’s nimble, quick, and carrying 52.5kg, which gives him an edge. With Jamie Kah steering, I’d say he’s got a good shot at leading the pack.
I’m quite taken with #9 Too Darn Lizzie. She’s a spirited two-year-old filly, trained by the renowned Waterhouse/Bott team. Her trial win at Warwick Farm by a handsome margin speaks volumes. She’s one to watch.
My pick here is #2 Barracuda. This colt’s been prepped by Waterhouse/Bott, which is always a good sign. His performance at Rosehill shows he’s got the chops. He’s got a winning debut written all over him.
I’m backing #1 Rothfire despite a tough draw. This horse is a seasoned campaigner with a bankroll to match. His ten wins are no fluke – he’s a class act.
My choice is #3 Zennzella. This mare’s last win at Caulfield was a stunner. She’s got a knack for finishing strong, and with a bit of luck, she could very well take this.
I’m leaning towards #4 Golden Boom. This fella’s got speed to burn, and his recent trial win at Doomben has him primed for a solid run. Ryan Maloney in the saddle is a bonus.
#3 King of Sparta is my top bet. He hasn’t had a win lately, but his class is undeniable, as shown in his last race. With James McDonald riding, I reckon he’s due for a comeback.
For the Magic Millions 2YO Classic, I’ve got my eye firmly on #1 Storm Boy. He’s a real standout, trained by the legendary duo of Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott. Despite drawing barrier 10, which isn’t exactly a gift, there’s a strong buzz about him. He’s unbeaten, you know, with wins at Rosehill and a solid showing in the Group 3 BJ McLachlan Stakes at Eagle Farm. The colt has guts, that’s for sure. Overcoming challenges and still coming out on top, Storm Boy has that winning streak we all look for. Training has been spot on, and from what I’ve seen, he’s looking sharp and ready. Some folks are even calling him a ‘sure bet,’ and I can see why. He’s got that spark, that edge that sets the great ones apart
Moving on to the Magic Millions 3YO Guineas, #2 Chrysaor is the one that’s caught my attention. Trained by the masterful Chris Waller, he’s landed a decent barrier draw at eight. It’s always a bit of a gamble, but this seems to have fallen in his favor. Chrysaor has been consistent, showing steady form and building up nicely for this race. Waller knows how to peak a horse at the right moment, and Chrysaor seems to be hitting that peak just when it counts. There’s a certain confidence you get with a Waller horse, and Chrysaor has that in spades. Keep a close eye on him; he’s poised to make a significant impact in this race
My money’s on #2 Far Too Easy. His recent form is hard to ignore, and in a race that’ll likely favor those coming from behind, he’s got a real shot at storming home to victory.
I’ve got a strong feeling about #1 Royal Merchant. This mare has something special, and she’s my best bet for the race. She’s shown some real spark in her previous outings and seems to have the right mix of speed and stamina for this one. There’s a certain edge to her performance that makes her stand out as a top contender.
