Best Bet: Rosehill Race 7, No.3 Caballus
Join NowI thought this colt looked the one to beat two weeks ago here at Rosehill. It has been well documented that he ran into plenty of trouble that day. From missing the start to being badly held up in the early part of the straight, he really didn’t have much luck at all. While he goes from a 3yr old BM72 to a Listed race on Saturday, he does drop 3 kilograms in weight. There is certainly more depth to this field but with Tom Kitten having an inflated rating from his 2yr old campaign, it has allowed Caballus to get into this race well placed at the weights. I believe he is a highly promising colt and i keen to give him another chance on Saturday. I am making him the best of the day.
Next Best: Moonee Valley Race 1, No.1 Amur.
Join NowI don’t really like tipping horses first up from a five month spell but i think Amur has come back really well judging by his latest trial. He bounced out of the gates and worked his way to outside the leader and was never really asked in the straight for an effort. The time wasn’t fantastic but he looked liked he had plenty in reserve. He is extremely well placed here under the conditions of this 3yr old Plate race. He is already the winner of three races with two of the wins being over this course and distance last season. He is drawn a touch wide but if Ben Mellham can find a spot in run i think he will be really hard to hold out. At the odds i am making him the next best of the day.
