Our seasoned tipster, Mick, has scoured the tracks and analysed the form to bring you his top selections and expert racing tips for the thrilling races at Eagle Farm and Rosehill, Saturday, August 4th. With a keen eye for winners, Mick presents his two best bets of the day to maximise your chances of a winning day.
He was first up for the new stable four weeks ago when he lead till the shadows and got run down in the last stride. He was a tragedy beaten after getting worked over by a 100/1 chance that got beat a mile. That was a fast run race and the fact he managed to kick away and look home added plenty of merit to the run. There has been multiple winners to come out of that particular race so i think it is a good form reference. This is a significantly easier field on Saturday than what he was opposed to first up. He has won second up in the past and gets James Orman on this week. The only negative is he does rise 3.5 kilograms for this race and has never raced at Eagle Farm before. As long as he has recovered well from that tough first up run i think he looks very hard to beat. I am making him the best of the day.
Hate tipping in the Highway but this horse is really crying out to win one of these races. He fleetingly looked the winner here two weeks ago before Eaglemont snuck up the fence and was too good. He did get a nice run in transit after being average away and got clear at the right time. He had his chance no doubt. This field looks nowhere near as strong on Saturday compared to what he raced two weeks ago. He is particularly well placed in this field at the weights being a Plate Race. While he is out to 1800 meters for the first time and that is some concern, going through his breeding there might be enough there to suggest he will run the trip. For that reason i am making him the second best of the day.
