Our seasoned tipster, Mick, has scoured the tracks and analyzed the form to bring you his top selections and expert racing tips for the thrilling races at Caulfield and Eagle Farm today, Saturday, June 24th. With a keen eye for winners, Mick presents his two best bets of the day to maximize your chances of a winning day.
Good quality 3yr old who looked slightly disappointing on face value at Sandown a few weeks ago. He did sit wide and only got collared in the last 100 meters. That was the Listed Bel Esprit Stakes against the older horses. He is back to his own age again and while he rises considerably in weight, this is a far easier field than what he was opposed to last start. Two starts ago he sat wide on speed and was far too good for South Of Houston who has won since. While there looks to be plenty of speed on paper i am happy to make him the best of the day with Shinn doing the steering and back to racing his own age again.
I am loathe to be tipping in a Group 1 which has 17 runners. It is a recipe for disaster. But you will struggle to find a bigger certainty beaten than Opal Ridge here two weeks ago. She sat four wide the trip and went down narrowly to Comrade Rosa. If she hasn’t taken any harm from that run she will be mighty hard to beat. It is really hard to see anything she raced two weeks ago turning the tables on her. It might be left to Foxy Frida or Ruthless Dame but they are both drawn poorly so their task is going to be made all the harder. If Opal Ridge can have even luck in run she is going to be hard to hold out and while the odds are nothing to get excited about she looks a great chance.
