I’m backing the Kings to lead at halftime in their game against the Lakers. Despite the Lakers’ recent three-game win streak, their performance in first halves remains a concern, highlighted by their -6.1 first-half net rating. In contrast, the Kings have been impressive early in games, especially with De’Aaron Fox’s return bolstering their lineup. Their ability to score 68 first-half points against the defensively robust Cavs last year is a testament to their strength. Moreover, with the Lakers having played just yesterday, their veteran squad might start slower than usual, which could play to the Kings’ advantage
Taking the Cavs with a -10.5 point spread against the Trail Blazers. The Cavs have been consistent in covering against Portland, doing so in five of their last seven encounters. The Blazers, on the other hand, haven’t been great at home, with only 2 wins against the spread in their last 13 home games. Given these trends, plus the gulf in experience, talent and motivation between these sides, I’m confident the Cavs will cover the spread.
