The Mavs should dominate the Wizards in this one. Even though it’s an away game, Dallas arguably has the best backcourt in the league with Luka and Kyrie, and Washington really struggles against top-tier guard play. Luka’s been phenomenal since returning from his wrist injury, putting to rest concerns about his fitness or motivation (for now). With him sharp and Kyrie in sync, the Wizards will likely struggle to contain them or keep up. Add in Washington’s high turnover rate against a team that thrives on capitalizing on mistakes, and this has all the makings of a blowout.
Cleveland’s defense is elite, ranking among the best in the league, and they play at one of the slowest paces, which keeps games low-scoring. While Denver’s offense is potent, especially with Nikola Jokić orchestrating, he’ll be facing one of the toughest defensive frontcourts in Jarrett Allen and Evan Mobley. The Cavs are likely to trust their big men to contain Jokić in the half-court without overcommitting, limiting the kick-out opportunities that usually ignite Denver’s offense. With Cleveland’s deliberate pace and disciplined defensive strategy, expect a grind-it-out game that stays below the total.
